About
Breast cancer has touched the lives of so many, and Pink Ribbon Rally is here to make a difference. Our annual Live and Silent Auction is a celebration of community and giving, as we come together to raise funds for breast cancer research. We are also dedicated to advancing regenerative medicine and exploring new ways to support those affected by this disease. Join us in our mission to make a difference.
Our Story
Meet Dr. Amy-Jo Fischer
Amy-Jo Fischer, DDS has been a resident of Kernersville since she graduated from dental school at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1985. She established her practice, Smiles by Design, ten years later. With her staff of eight dedicated ladies, she provides general family dentistry for patients 3-103 years old, with an emphasis on the “family friendly” atmosphere. Her grandfather was a dentist, her father is a retired thoracic surgeon, and her mother is a retired nurse, so heath care is a family trait.
Amy-Jo is the mother of three children, Andrew, Rachel and Meredith. Her hobbies of cooking, gardening, and traveling keep her busy while out of the office. In 2011, she purchased the Joyner House, next door to the dental practice, and has found historic home restoration to be especially enjoyable.
In 2009, just prior to her 49th birthday, Amy-Jo was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to an annual mammogram, the cancer was found early. After her surgery, she underwent both chemotherapy and radiation treatments, followed by reconstructive surgery. Throughout her treatment, she was able to continue working in her dental practice, which she credits to the fine care of her physicians, the love and prayers of family and friends, and the grace of God.
After she completed her radiation therapy, a good friend introduced Amy-Jo to Thomas Hoth, who has been an incredible support for the last five years. With her health, her practice, and her family and friends, she looked for a way to help other women going through breast cancer treatment. It was this desire that led her to start the Kernersville Pink Ribbon Rally, which is now in it’s fifth year. Her staff has invested many hours in preparation for the dinner and auction, and Thomas has been especially inspired to make the silent/live auction a success, with visits to businesses throughout the Triad Area. The monies that were raised that evening were used to establish the Evan-Hopkins Breast Cancer Fund, which will be used in the support of women undergoing breast cancer treatment at the new Kernersville Medical Center. The fund was named for Dr. Lisa Evans and Dr. Judith Hopkins, the oncologists who treated her, and many other survivors in the area.
Our Vision
Our mission at Pink Ribbon Rally is to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Through our fundraising campaigns and auctions, we aim to raise money to develop new treatments, increase screening, and support families affected by this disease. We believe in the power of community outreach and education to help save lives. Join us in our fight by making a donation today, and help us support those living with or affected by breast cancer.

As a non-profit organization, Pink Ribbon Rally is dedicated to raising awareness and funding for regenerative medicine research. Our partnership with WFIRM has allowed for the development of healing cell therapies and the engineering of over 40 different replacement tissues and organs. We strive to cure, rather than simply treat disease and we are proud to be a part of such an innovative team.
